Orkanger, Evjen and Råbygda

Welcome to Orkanger – the biggest town in Orkland, and administrative center for Orkland municipality.

Barely 35 minutes’ drive from Trondheim, you will find Orkanger – beautifully situated at the end of the Orkdalsfjorden.

Orkanger city has approximately 9,000 inhabitants, and is considered one of the most important industrial hubs in Central Norway.

Our city has something to offer for every taste. Among several attractions are the wonderful Idrettsparken, the state-of-the-art Orklandbadet, the beautiful Ulvåsmarka in the immediate vicinity, the idyllic Gammelosen and the charming wooden housing development on Nerøra.

Orkanger is also one of the largest shopping centers in Trøndelag, with a wide selection of shops. Orkanger also has several restaurants, nightclubs and social meeting places that the locals knows how to appreciate.

Orklandbadet

Orklandbadet is one of the country’s largest and finest swimming facilities with eight pools, saunas and a slide.

In addition to the swimming facility, Orklandbadet houses a training centre, climbing hall, sports hall and several municipal health services.

Bårdshaug herregård

Bårdshaug Herregård is a family-owned hotel – a proud member of “De Historiske hotel & spisesteder”, and is run as a hotel and restaurant operation connected to the historic manor after Christian Thams.

Here you can spend the night in modern or historic surroundings, eat well and hold company in stately premises.
